Position Summary:

The primary goal of this position is to provide industry-leading in-region, pre- and post-sales support for HARMAN Professional’s Cinema customers and our regional support teams, giving them access to a resource who understands their business and helps address their needs with a clear willingness to support their success, and deep knowledge of our hardware and software offerings.

Ideally the candidate will work out of the Northridge, CA location, but a remote office location may be considered for the right person.

In the pre-sales support role, work directly with our sales and technical teams in the field to plan, manage, and execute product demonstrations that show the full capabilities of our cinema sound system. It is important in this pre-sales role that the candidate not only performs a successful technology demonstration, but also works to build relationships with new customers – exemplifying our commitment to building a relationship with our partner customers.

In the post-sales support role, candidate will be primarily responsible for both educating new customers and/or new regional staff, and providing timely and highly-effective support for existing customers. Training and education is a growing, key element of the success of our go-to-market strategy. The successful candidate is one who excels at being a teacher – sharing clear and helpful knowledge to assist our customers – but who also understands that in order to teach, one must always be learning and keeping an open mind to new concepts and new trends in the industry.

The post-sales technical support role consists not just of traditional ‘over-the-phone’ support, but also on-site support for customers with technically challenging events, leading online web conferences to help customers who would like to consult us to find their best possible solution, and proactive monitoring of in-field hardware to ensure that customers who deploy our systems are always up-to-date with the latest firmware or compliant with the latest technical notes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely alongside sales and technical staff to cultivate new business through design recommendations and coordinating/conducting events that feature product demonstrations.

  • Meet with customers and regional staff to present new products clearly and effectively, telling the HARMAN Professional story that is inseparable from an impressive technical demonstration.

  • Always be knowledgable on the latest offerings in the HARMAN Professional cinema product line, and always understand how the elements go together to provide exceptional solutions for customers.

  • Excel at presenting to large groups, responding to their questions, and performing hands-on trainings that demonstrate best practices for how to deploy our hardware and software solutions.

  • Be proactive, communicating effectively both back to manager and office team, and also out into the field regularly keeping in touch with customers to stay up-to-date on their activities and always striving to better understand their business.

  • Be available, answer technical support emails and calls in a timely fashion, deliver show files or array predictions as requested in a timely and accurate fashion.

  • Be organized, especially when it comes to documenting customer visits, entering them into the CRM system, and following up with contacts.

  • Work with team to develop technical documentation library – this could include presentations, training guides, video overviews, or standards for how to properly present our offerings.

  • Support marketing efforts by attending tradeshows, regional demonstrations, and other key events as needed that benefit from having our exceptional technical resources team present.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a field related to audio, acoustics.

  • 5 years + of system design and room tuning (cinema preferred)

  • BSS Audio Architect extensive knowledge – including ability to create separate panels inside of BSS software

  • Having been trained on – or having had experience applying BSS audio architect dsp to room tuning of Samsung LED Cinema system – including fine tuning of de-elevation filter.

  • Extensive knowledge of room acoustics (design, implementation, and commissioning)

  • Track record of successful execution of room acoustic projects (design, implementation, and commissioning)

  • Extensive knowledge of loudspeaker modeling software (EASE)

  • Understanding and experience setting up Audio over IP systems

  • Smaart software experience

  • Experience working with audio integrators

  • Familiar with cinema audio systems, including servers and processors.

  • Understanding and knowledge of SMPTE requirements for cinema audio systems

  • Ability to problem solve and think quickly in pressure situations.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple long-term and short-term tasks concurrently

  • Structured way of working independently, while possessing skills to benefit the group in a team setting.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Resourcefulness in solving problems and overcoming obstacles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years + of system design and room tuning (cinema preferred)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 65% of the time.
