General Description

Samsung Ads is looking for a dynamic and passionate leader to join a growing Marketing Insights team a strategic, cross-functional group that directly supports the Samsung Ads media sales team and impacts revenue through insights-led initiatives.

We are looking for a confident individual with a strong marketing research background who understands the value of uncovering audience insights from Samsung’s wealth of consumer data to support our Samsung Ads advertising platform. This position requires a keen analytical and strategic mind that is able to absorb large amounts and varied sources of data, while having the capability to see beyond the data to provide intellectual insight. Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style. They will possess strong intellectual curiosity, and a passion for achieving practical business impact. Skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, and recommendation development will also be critical. Successful candidates will have exceptional interpersonal skills, initiative, and integrity.

The role will report to the Head of Marketing Insights and will work closely with internal Samsung Ads departments, including Sales, Product Marketing, Operations and more. S/he will be responsible for synthesizing and delivering compelling insights and stories that support our business, derived from both primary and external data. This position will be based in our Los Angeles office with potential opportunities for domestic travel.

Position Overview:

  • Owning our vertical and advertiser insights and data narrative

  • Identifying opportunities and developing client-specific insights solutions based on advertiser trends in adoption of Advanced TV media strategy

  • Partnering closely with our Sales teams in developing and evangelizing our insights-driven solutions and measurement methodology that drive key outcomes for our advertisers

  • Analyzing and presenting insights and research findings and recommendations to specific advertisers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, document and support advertising pre-sales and campaign-based insights initiatives.

  • Create integrated research and insights reports using proprietary analytics, custom primary research, and syndicated resources where appropriate.

  • Work closely with Media/Advertising sales executives and client solutions managers to best support client research and analytics needs.

  • Analyze and deliver insights from advertising effectiveness studies, including the use of proprietary behavioral analytics to measure campaign performance.

  • Interpret data, write reports, and make actionable recommendations.

  • Present research findings to account teams and clients.

  • Cross-functionally work to determine appropriate research and analytics that best meet client objectives and showcase platform results.

  • Distribute knowledge within the organization and externally to clients through deep-dive sessions and campaign recaps.

  • Develop expertise across client verticals and demonstrate how best insight can be applied to business strategy.

  • Generate case studies and manage establishment of platform benchmarks across various verticals.

Necessary Skills / Attributes

Experience/ Background

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in data and market analysis, consulting and/or market research roles, in the marketing and advertising field preferred

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Psychology, Consumer Behavior or similar

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in TV and/or digital media

  • Experience in audience and media measurement (i.e. comScore, Nielsen)

  • Comprehensive experience in drawing insights from proprietary digital analytics media datasets

  • Experience in campaign effectiveness research such as brand lift, offline sales attribution i.e. transactional conversion and foot-traffic measurement

  • Experience in leveraging custom analytics, primary research and syndicated research in the creation of an integrated research narrative.

  • Effective communication skills

  • Critical thinking skills to have great attention detail while being open-minded to find solutions that best solve problems
