As a member of the Aerospace Systems Manufacturing Technology Development team, the selected candidate will identify, develop, and validate manufacturing plans, processes, and procedures for production and prototype programs. Defines and develops manufacturing processes to factory and production conditions. Designs sequence of operations, specifies procedures, and develops cost estimates for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product cost, quality, and performance. Technology area of focus would be Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) with a focus on Polymers.
Develops production and test requirements for verification, validation, and transition to production. Inspects performance of processes, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, systems engineering, six-sigma and may develop those techniques. Provides input regarding design concepts and specification requirements for producibility and affordability techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
This position requires the applicant to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity with competance in understanding metallics, composites, and additive manufacturing per design/engineering drawings.
Position requires ability to manage technical projects and interfacing with other engineering disciplines. Provides input regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
Bachelor’s degree (or Higher) in an Engineering discipline or equivalent STEM degree
2 years of experience with aerospace engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly operations.
Experience with Additive Manufacturing
Proficient in MS office software products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
Active DoD secret clearance
Ability to obtain SAR program access
Experience in the development, capture, and or execution of R&D technology initiatives.
Experience with Technical project management
Experience making Technical presentations
2 years of experience with Polymer based additive manufacturing
Secret Clearance with SAR program access
